ABOUT RECLAIM ROXBURY 

Reclaim Roxbury is a community organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and economic wealth for Roxbury residents by preventing displacement and supporting economic development. We work to ensure that Roxbury residents are actively involved in the democratic process and have a say in community planning. We achieve this through education and advocacy in order to build a more prosperous and resilient Roxbury.

ABOUT THE POSITION 

The Civic Engagement Team position provides community members with opportunities to learn through experience about key aspects of strengthening civic engagement in the Roxbury community. Team members will help support the Reclaim Roxbury team with community outreach and event planning. The position is ideal for folks who have an investment in Roxbury and want to learn more about community organizing. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

● Participate in trainings on civic engagement 

● Outreach to community members through flyering, phone calls, and texting

● Assist with logistics and implementation of community events 

● Administrative tasks as necessary 

QUALIFICATIONS 

● Must be 18 years or older 

● Valid Mass State ID/Drivers License 

● Have a strong connection to Roxbury 

● Own a working cell phone 

● Able to doorknock for an hour or longer

● Share similar values around social, economic and racial justice as Reclaim Roxbury

Pay 

$20/hour - weekly pay

JOB TYPE 

Part time contract work (10 – 20 hours a week). Civic Team lasts 8 weeks, with a flexible start date.
