The Neighborhood Birth Center will be the first freestanding birth center in Boston, advancing reproductive and racial justice through community-based, culturally grounded midwifery care.

The revitalization of the Commonwealth Pier is a transformative project that will modernize and reposition the existing building and the Pier for its next generation of use as a vibrant place for work, retail, events and active public waterfront experiences within the city’s Seaport District.

This project is a multi-phased redevelopment of the existing Whittier Choice public housing development located in Roxbury. The redevelopment will create a total of approximately 387 residential units, bringing a net increase of approximately 187 residential units to Whittier Choice. Approximately 7,680 square feet of retail will also be built as part of the redevelopment.

This project has transformed the Grove Hall Library building at 5 Crawford Street into the new Freedom House headquarters. The project consists of a new 8,000 square feet interior fit-out and envelope and roof repairs to the existing structure. The building services residents of the surrounding Roxbury, Mattapan, and Dorchester communities.

Bartlett Place consists of 313 units of affordable, moderate, and market rental and home ownership housing, senior housing, and commercial/retail space. This transit-oriented development will offer public and private greenspaces complete with outdoor seating and dining areas, tot lots, and generous planted walkways.

The Whittier Street Health Center expands the range of services that Whittier provides and greatly increases the number of patients it serves. The building is a six-story, 80,000 sq. ft. structure that houses a full spectrum of out-patient clinics and ancillary health services.

The Jazz Urbane Cafe is a mix of café and entertainment venue situated on the ground floor of a multistory building. The venue is a blend of contemporary and timeless design, with a lobby featuring a host station, leading into a main dining area decked out with acoustic panels.

Central Boston Elder Services is a 57 unit 7-story elderly apartment building. The project, located in the Dudley square section of Roxbury is reserved for low income seniors to assist with independent living.

This state-of-the-art facility, which will establish the standards for all other Pipefitters’ locations, replaces two existing buildings that date from 1880 and 1964. History is enmeshed in the design, however: The dynamic lobby integrates displays that highlight a century of achievements and member stories.
